Until November Until Series Book 1 edition by Aurora Rose Reynolds Sara Eirew Hot Tree Editing Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I'm sure I won't be popular with this review but I'm just telling it as I see it. I am do done with every version of the "Until" series. I think the author kept coming up with new characters in each book as a way of continuing this series that should have been wrapped up a while ago. The characters are basically the same in every book. The males call their women "babe" and the women find their men "annoying". The sex scenes are repetitive throughout the books as well.
I've been giving the books three stars because there was a decent story line but this book just made me shake my head with all the inconsistencies.Let me explain. November and Asher are the parents of June, July, May, December, and April so by the way their daughter's books are written, that puts them in their 50's. So, if you go by that, their book should take place sometime in the early 1980's yet, there are so many references to things that did not exist in the 80's. Let me give you a few examples. They have cell phones and text (although mobile phones have been around since 1973, they were not compact as the book implies and texting did not start until 1992). There is one line from the book and I quote "You do realize it's 2013, right?" November's father gives her a 2011 Ninja 250R motorcycleI'm kind of s stickler for timelines and this is so far off the mark that it just kept annoying me the more I read.
And speaking of annoying, November acts like a 6 year old with all the "jumping up and down" and "screaming" when she gets excited. Come on, give me a break. Asher deserves better than than an immature girl.
Lastly, I found so many editing and grammatical errors that makes me think the author is just pushing these books out with very little regard for detail. Sorry but I can't read any more of these if they continue the way they have been. There are too many other books more deserving of my time.
I loved the characters, loved the story. It went a little fast but that seems to be the norm nowadays with most books of this genre. Asher was so sweet & hot & alpha &......I could go on forever about him. Just loved him & his family. November was funny & brave & I liked that this book didn't have the usual relationship misunderstandings. One problem I've had lately with books of this genre is the inevitable failure of birth control after just a couple months. Why/how does this always happen? Anyway, great book. Definitely recommend & will read the next in the series.
UNTIL NOVEMBER is book one in the Until series and I think Aurora Rose Reynolds' debut novel (?). This is an erotic, bad boy, romantic suspense. Honestly, I read this book several years ago, put it on my READ AGAIN E-SHELF and then didn't read it again until a few days ago (hangs head in shame!). But NOW I remember why I loved it! Hmm...let's see
1) possessive alpha hottie who has a habit of carrying his girl...CHECK
2) insta-love/lust connection between November and Asher that makes a romantic's heart flutter...CHECK
3) sex that's so HOT and passionate, I have to fan myself...CHECK
4) a bit of mystery and suspense and a few twists that kept me guessing until the end...CHECK
5) sweet, charming and funny secondary characters...CHECK
Asher is what I'd lovingly call a "stud muffin"! SIGH...what girl wouldn't want a sweet talkin', tattooed bad boy who claims almost from their first meeting that you're "the one"?? And November was no pushover, despite how controlling (in that delightfully possessive way) Asher wants to be. The writing had a few hiccups, I'll admit, some minor issues but that didn't detract from the story for me. It reminded me of another one of my favorite authors, Kristen Ashley and maybe that's why I adored this book so much. Regardless, I'm super glad that I re-read it (and have actually read several more books by Ms. Reynolds!). Told mostly from November's POV with a few chapters from Asher and a happy ever after.
I'm pretty sure this is going to be an unpopular opinion but this book just didn't do it for me.
Asher annoyed the crap outta me, I disliked him telling her what to do all the damn time like she can't do whatever the hell she wants to do like a damn club to go to her car, seriously? Too forward and too bossy and as for her, I really didn't like how she did whatever he said. He could say jump and she'd say how high. *sighs* but it slowly got a little better for me and I felt a little for the story and the characters. The storyline was good but I just couldn't get into it much. Maybe I'm having an off day lol.
Anyway, I loved the writing style and Aurora Rose Reynolds did great with this, I loved the pregnancy part, men and their reactions to women going into labour HAH. Definitely gonna give her other books a try.
